Triumph laughs off 125 rumours

Triumph insiders have laughed off online rumours the British firm is gearing up to produce a 125cc capacity bike.

MCN spoke to an insider who said: “We have no idea where this rumour came from. The first we knew of it was when we were told about it but I can assure you there is no truth to this at all. We aren’t making a 125cc bike and no matter what some people on the internet may say, that is the fact.”

Although the firm has always refused to comment officially about speculation and rumours surrounding future model plans, insiders have totally dismissed the rumours.
A Triumph spokesman said: “We aren’t going to comment on speculation.”

It’s not clear where the story came from other than an unsubstantiated rumour that a 125cc bike has been seen riding with Triumph test bikes in Spain although there were no images to go with the rumour.
