Experts sceptical of Motus claims

Fresh scepticism has greeted the new Motus MST-01 V4 following its public unveiling at Daytona, raising suspicions the men behind the MST-01 have a steeper mountain to climb than they realise.

Engineers, design consultants and US-market specialists contacted by MCN were swift to counter the initial enthusiasm for the unconventional 2012 model fanned by its muscle-car technical roots, questioning its viability, likely price and claimed performance.

Damian Harty of automotive consultants Prodrive said: “Two valves, pushrods and direct injection is a weird combination. If you’re going to saddle the thing with the inability to breathe properly, why waste money on direct injection?”
