Iconic GP bikes line up on MCN stand

A collection of iconic GP and race bikes representing the cream of the last three decades of bike sport is set to be one of the star attractions at the Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show (February 4-7 at Excel, London).

Five top flight GP machines, as ridden by Valentino Rossi, Barry Sheene, Kevin Schwantz, Randy Mamola and Loris Capirossi, have been brought together to be the showpiece of the Sport section of MCN’s own stand at the show.

They are:

• Valentino Rossi’s 2009 MotoGP world championship-winning, 800cc Yamaha M1.
• Barry Sheene’s 1981 Yamaha OW53, with which he became the last Brit to win a 500cc GP, in Sweden that year.
• Kevin Schwantz 1993 500cc GP world championship-winning Suzuki RGV500
• Loris Capirossi’s 2003 990cc Ducati Desmosedici GP3 on which he won the Cataluyna GP
• Randy Mamola’s 1989 500cc Cagiva V589

In addition, the MCN Sport stand will also be featuring a replica of the Suzuki XR69 which Roger Marshall romped to the 1982 British TT F1 championship and which is featured in the current issue of sister title Classic Bike magazine.
