Triumph Thunderbird gets hot-rodded
Updated: 19 November 2014
In standard trim the Triumph Thunderbird has a grunty 1597cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, beautiful steering and solid stability.
Next week in MCN we reveal a Thunderbird that’s like that, but more so.
Thanks to modifications by dealer Jack Lilley, this ABS-equipped Thunderbird ‘Hot Rod Special’ looks that bit meaner, has a meatier soundtrack and even sharper handling.
Like most of the specials to come out of their dealership in Ashford, Middlesex, this one’s for sale – Lilley build them from new to tempt customers into the showroom. It costs £14,999 – £4200 more than the ABS base-model.
To find out what modifications the guys at Jack Lilley made, and what the bike’s like to ride, check out MCN next week – out Wednesday May 5.
