Zero surprise with all-inclusive UK price for electric Supermoto

US electric bike manufacturer Zero says it’ll ship its Zero S supermoto to your door for £8,874. It certainly puts the four-wheeled equivalent – the similarly leading-edge but £65,000 Tesla roadster – in perspective.  

The Zero S has a top speed of 60mph from its 62.5lb-ft / 31bhp motor, a commutable range of 60 miles and running costs of less than a penny a mile.

It only weighs 100kg and our first ride impressions suggested it’s good for supermoto-style jumps and fun to ride thanks to its always-available GSX-R750-rivalling torque.
