If you fancy a nippy scooter with a bit more stability, the Piaggio Liberty is the first big-wheeled sports scooter with either a 50cc or 125cc engine.

It’s got a 16″ front wheel, with a 14″ rear, giving it more bike-like handling, alonsgide a distinctive arrow-shaped headlamps, indicators on the handlebar fairing and a tapered front shield. The rear spoiler doubles as a handgrip for pillions, and the underseat compartment should hold a jet-style helmet, while there’s also a glove box for extra storage.
