6.7 litre v-twin custom

1 of 1

As if the current crop of near two litre v-twin cruisers doesn’t offer enough power, German Firm Leonhardt has released details of a proposed 6.7 litre beast.

The Gunbus was conceived when Leonhardt engineers realised the cylinders on the massive nine-cylinder radial aircraft engine they were working on were pretty attractive and placing two together on a custom crankcase would make a great looking v-twin.

The machine weighs a massive 395kgs but the engine puts out more than enough power to compensate. At 350bhp it offers 1.2bhp/kg, that’s more than a GSX-R1000, and an incredible 516lbft of torque, more than Ford’s V8 GT supercar.

The bike is so big, Leonhardt decided to run it on tyres from a Boeing 767, which gives it quite a strange appearance.

No Gunbus’s have actually been built yet but the firm will build them to order.
