Yamaha’s new bikes keep on rolling out. Now there’s an updated FJR1300 and a 50th anniversary R1 in retro 70s colours.

You’ll find more details about both bikes in MCN, out on September 7, 2005. More details about the new SP version and about the 2006 R6, are also revealed in our Wednesday issue of the paper.

The new R1 has increased power and a sharper-handling chassis for 2006 – as reported by MCN last week.

Yamaha says: “It’s available in a special-limited edition colour scheme to celebrate Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary. This Extreme Yellow machine was inspired by the livery of the legendary World Championship winning bikes that dominated the 500cc Road Racing Championships back in 1978, 1979, 1980. The Yellow R1 will also feature the Yamaha 50th Anniversary logo on its tank.”

The FJR1300 has been given all-new bodywork for 2006, panniers are now included as standard and changes to pillion pegs should boost comfort.
