BMW booms across EC

BMW is celebrating sales success across Europe – shifting up a gear to a record new market share at home in Germany, too.

BMWs account for one in five bikes sold in Germany. And the firm has seen significant growth in the number of bikes sold in Spain (up 27.9 per cent) France (up 7 per cent) and the UK (up 11 per cent).

The firm is particularly proud of its achievement in the UK – in a year when new bike sales fell 11 per cent overall. And it credits the R1200GS – Britain’s best-selling bike over 1000cc – as a key factor.
