How to: Fit LED headlights

Lights on modern bikes are absolutely brilliant and there really is little room for improvement.

But if you’ve not got one of the current crop of LED-festooned models and instead have something a little more traditional, you might well be looking for a way to improve things – especially at this time of year.

Luckily, you’ll find there are LED conversions for pretty much everything these days, so whatever bike you ride you’re
bound to find a bulb to suit.

What are the benefits of LEDs? Well, the reliability and durability of LED lights is far superior than the old incandescent type.

Also, they’re a bit more energy efficient too; for a traditional bulb, the fine wire tungsten filament inside has to reach temperatures of between 2000°C and 3000°C – which naturally takes a lot of power!

Just by switching to LEDs your lights will be using up to 85% less energy, which means less draw from the alternator and a little bit less fuel is burned, too!
