Marc Marquez: People at home sitting on the sofa are saying ‘it’s time to retire’…it’s not going to happen”

Eleven years ago a 20-year-old Marc Marquez made his MotoGP debut and it’s fair to say that the racing world has never been the same since. From winning the title in his rookie year to becoming six-time MotoGP champ in the space of seven years, the Spanish maestro has also had to endure some horrific injuries.

Now mid-way through the 2023 season, and no race win since Misano 2021, he faces the biggest crossroads of his life with a decision imminent as to whether he stays and tries to rebuild the once-dominant HRC squad or buys himself out of his contract and signs to ride a Ducati.

MCN sat down with the 30-year-old to talk past, present and future.
