BSB preview: It's all kicking off at Oulton

Hold onto your hats as BSB enters its new Showdown phase at Oulton Park this weekend!

Here are five things to watch out for…

1. Ramping up the points haul

Fully revamped for 2023, this year’s Showdown is split into two separate parts, the first of which includes Oulton Park this weekend and Donington Park on September 29-October 1.

The difference between these two rounds and the season finale at Brands Hatch comes down to the number of points on offer.

Until now, winners of the opening 24 races have taken 18 points, with second and third securing 16 and 14 respectively.

Throughout the field, the difference between a position was only a point in order to keep the championship tight. At Oulton and Donington, the points system is as follows: 25-22-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

For Brands Hatch there will be a total of 105 points (35 per victory) up for grabs across three races…
