Remembering Mike Trimby: The man who saved racing

The racing world has lost one of its most pioneering and influential characters following the sudden passing
of Mike Trimby – the man widely credited for laying the foundations of the modern MotoGP paddock.

Trimby started working in the Grand Prix paddock in 1982 before establishing IRTA (International Race Teams Association) in 1986. He died last Friday evening where he was working at the Misano MotoGP round. He was 74 years old.
