2011 GSX-R750 ridden!

Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves is currently testing Suzuki’s all-new 2011 GSX-R750. His full report will be in next week’s MCN but here are his first impressions:

“We’re at the Monte Blanco circuit near Seville in Spain. The big thing you notice straight away about the new GSX-R is it’s 8kg weight loss compared to the old model which makes it very light and flickable and enhances the acceleration.

“The new Big Piston Forks and Brembo brakes are also a big improvement over the old model.

“But the over-riding impression is how easy it is to ride fast. It’s got just the right mix of power and handling – but with the weight loss you have to be careful in applying the power as it’s capable of spinning the rear tyre.

“Compared to the GSX-R1000 we tested last week, there’s no doubt that you could still lap faster, ultimately, on the 1000 – but only just. But it’d be easier to do consistently fast laps on the 750 as it’s so much easier to ride.”
