1 of 2

Senior Road Tester Adam Child is currently riding the mountain roads of Sicily aboard the new £8995 Ducati Monster 1100 Evo. Right now he’s drawing breath and enjoying the view from the top of Mount Etna.

Since the death of the S4R the 1100 has been the ultimate Ducati Monster and the revised air-cooled Evo engine produces 100bhp. The bike has ABS and traction controlled fitted as standard. Find a Ducati Monster 1100 for sale

Here’s his first impressions.

“I’m loving the lightweight handling and the bark of the new V-twin on stunning switch back roads leading up to the peak of Mount Etna. I’ve got the traction control setting on number two; I felt it kick in when accelerating hard over slippery zebra crossings and manhole covers.

“It’s nice to know that the safety net is there on such challenging roads, it’s like having superbike technology but in naked form.
