King of the swingarms! 400bhp Triumph Speed Triple 1200RR built by Thornton Hundred costs £55k

Thornton Hundred’s supercharged Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR drift bike, the one that appeared at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, is now up for grabs – and it could be yours for just £55,000.
Built by the company’s founder, Jody Millhouse, power currently sits at a healthy 230bhp at the back wheel – although it was running 400 ponies (at the crank) during the Goodwood appearance, with the bike weighing in at a lithe 190kg.
According to Millhouse, that’s enough to easily spin the back wheel at 150mph in sixth gear.

The bump in thrust comes thanks to a Rotrex C30 supercharger, water/methanol injection system, and a fully built motor with bespoke forged rods/ pistons.
Away from the mammoth power figures, the drifter features an extended billet swingarm which is a full 180mm longer than standard, as well as being hollowed out to store five litres of methanol. This part alone reportedly cost in the region of £14,000 to manufacture.
On top of that, there’s full carbon fibre bodywork, carbon wheels, a titanium exhaust that weighs just 2.4kg, and to top it all off, active aerodynamics that are lean angle and braking sensitive.

Despite the massive performance, the one-off Triumph is fully road legal and MoT compliant, even coming with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty. Head to Thornton Hundred’s website for more.
