Triumph ramp up enduro plans with all-British factory team set for 2025 World Championship assault

Triumph’s off-road racing programme has been given a huge boost following the announcement that the brand will compete its much-anticipated enduro machine in both the 2025 FIM SuperEnduro and EnduroGP World Championships.

The venture into both series – as well as North America’s AMA EnduroCross Championship and selected events throughout the racing season – will be overseen by off-road legend and four-time Enduro World Champion Paul Edmondson in his new role as head of the Triumph Racing factory enduro programme. The former enduro ace has close ties to the brand having helped develop the TF 250-X motocrosser and ridden Triumphs as 007’s stunt double in the Bond film No Time To Die

Triumph have also signed British enduro ace Jonny Walker. Walker, a three-times SuperEnduro runner-up, is aiming to go one better in 2025, with the SE world title in his sights, as well as a number of EnduroGP and AMA EnduroCross appearances also on the cards. The 33-year-old is set to make his Triumph debut on October 5 at the Indoor Enduro of Champions event in Newcastle’s Utilita Arena.

“I’m really excited to join Triumph,” said Walker. “To be the first rider to represent Triumph Racing in enduro is special. My bike feels great already, which makes the job a lot easier. It’s great to have Paul Edmondson on board, too. He has so much experience, not only in running successful teams but in racing itself, which is invaluable. Having a British manager running a British team with a British rider is really exciting, and something you don’t get very often.”

Edmondson, who earned a record-breaking 18th gold medal at his last ISDE in 2012, is equally enthusiastic about the challenge.

“To officially be part of the Triumph Racing Factory Team for enduro is another huge milestone in my career. To say that I’m excited is an understatement! Having worked with Triumph for a number of years on some cool projects, I know that we have a bright future in enduro.

“The signing of Jonny is the icing on the cake,” Edmondson continued. “The fact that we can offer a great bike with full factory support means, to me, that there’s only one way for him to go – fighting for race wins and championships.”

Details about the full spec, price and availability of the new enduro machine are limited, although it’s certain to be a development of the already launched TF 250-X motocrosser that went on sale earlier this year for £9795.

Triumph have told MCN that they will release more information on the new machine later this year.
