Fundraiser for popular Adventure Rider Centre owner, Baz Fleming, closes in on £10K

A charity fundraiser has been established for Adventure Rider Centre (ARC) owner Barry Fleming after it was discovered that he had developed an inoperable brain tumour.

Graeme Thow – who established the page – will depart the UK with the intention of riding to Spain tackling as much Trans Euro Trail as possible along the way, which he hopes will encourage people to donate to the cause.

The project aims to raise £5000 for Fleming and his family after the decision was taken that they would have to close ARC in light of Fleming’s deteriorating health – although this figure has already been surpassed.

Thow said: “They really are the nicest people you could ever meet; nothing is ever too much.

“They have had to overcome some difficulties like many of us over the years, but this situation is so difficult and heartbreaking for them.

“When I finally arrive there on October 8, I hope to show them how much love and compassion there is for them and give them a big hug.”

British Rally Racer Lyndon Poskitt added: “I met my mate Baz and his lovely wife and daughter some 12 years ago when they hosted a fund raiser for my first Dakar effort. [They are] such a lovely family and they need our help.”
