Sidecar adventure duo plan to spend over 12 hours travelling in reverse to break 106-mile record

Three wheeled adventurers, Matt Bishop and Reece Gilkes (AKA The Sidecar Guys) have announced plans to break another Guinness World Record. This time around, the duo are aiming to cover the longest distance covered by motorcycle and sidecar in reverse – in one go.

On October 26 the pair will head to Tranwell Airfield near Newcastle for the attempt, which will see them reverse a Ural Gear Up, continuously, for approximately 12 hours to beat the current record of 106 miles.

Drinks will be served for spectators throughout the day and there will even be the chance to try three wheels out yourself. After ‘reversing into the record book’, a party will take place back at Sidecar Experience HQ.

Bishop and Gilkes gained global recognition for their record-breaking journey around the world via scooter and sidecar. Since then, they’ve been on a mission to share the joy of three-wheeled adventures through tours, experiences, and events – including their own Armchair Adventure Festival in Cornwall.

Tickets start at £5 for a spectator ticket and go up to £45 for the rider experience. All money raised goes towards The Sidecar Guys crowdfunder to open a new café and hub for adventure travellers in the northeast.
