Moto Morini Seiemmezzo STR naked twin modernises with bolt-on sports kit

Chinese-owned Italian marque Moto Morini have launched a striking new sports kit for their Seiemmezzo STR naked twin.

The SP kit builds on the existing middleweight twin with a headlight surround and small fly screen, plus a colour matched belly pan, and a pillion seat cover.

Gone too is the swingarm-mounted wraparound numberplate hanger, in favour of a conventionally mounted set up – moving the bike away from the realms of a road biased retro roadster to more of a modern middleweight naked.

Despite the additions, the SP bolt-ons bring the bike to a reasonable £6249, with 19 dealerships now dotted across the whole of the UK and Ireland – including a retailer on the Isle of Man. It’s also available in a choice of three colours.

If you’re unfamiliar with the STR, it’s one of two Seiemmezzo (meaning six-and-a-half in Italian) twin nakeds – sitting alongside a more scrambler orientated SCR version complete with spoked rims, Pirelli MT60 tyres, a beakier front mudguard, and more.

Both were launched in the UK in August 2022, and are powered by a claimed 60bhp 649cc parallel twin engine. This motor comes from Chinese firm CFMoto, with the engine itself originally based on Kawasaki’s ER-6 lump.

Focussing back on the SP version, it rolls on a pair of road focussed Pirelli Angel GT tyres – just like the standard STR. On top of this, there are also dual front 298mm discs which come paired with Brembo brake calipers, and a Bosch ABS system.

Headlights are full LED, with a five inch TFT display in front of the flat handlebars complete with Bluetooth connection. The switches themselves are also back lit for easier operation at night – a feature rarely seen on bikes of this price point.

Down from there, you’ll also find chunky 43mm upside down forks, which offer 120mm of travel and come adjustable for rebound, preload, and compression. A further 120mm of movement is found in the monoshock, with adjustment for preload and rebound only.
