Time is running out to have your say of the government's Classic Vehicle Consultation

The time to have your say on the Government’s classic vehicle consultation is coming to an end, with the final date given to respond set for Thursday, July 4.

The ongoing call for evidence was launched on May 9 and seeks to gather the views of drivers, riders, enthusiasts and industry bodies on how vintage vehicles can be preserved into the future by potentially altering how classic vehicles are registered with the DVLA.

The changes could make it easier to register vehicles modify classics and retrofit different powertrains, such as electric conversions. Changes that come about from the consultation could also protect and boost jobs in the £18 billion classic trade sector – which currently employs 113,000 skilled people.
