Adventure in the Algarve | KTM heads to the Portuguese coast for its seventh annual off-road rally

KTM’s European Adventure Rally is gearing up for its seventh incarnation, this time giving adventure bike enthusiasts a chance to head for Europe’s southwest coast. 

Taking place between 7-10 October, the event will cover 800km of carefully curated on and off-road riding, sending 250 orange-blooded adventure enthusiasts through dense forest, rolling hills and the charming towns of Portugal’s Algarve region. 

The rally begins in the coastal city of Lagos, from which riders can elect to tackle the event in guided groups or by opting to go it alone, following ‘Rally style’ GPS instructions

All skill levels are welcome along, with the main route comprising of smooth, easy-going gravel lanes.  

For riders wanting to test both their mettle and machine however, there are a series of optional special stages en route, along with optional ultra-challenging Breakout sections to push even seasoned veterans through their paces.  

Whilst participants can expect three action-packed days in the saddle, once the engines are switched off each evening, the nights will be a relaxed, luxurious affair with top-draw accommodation on offer and of course, plenty of opportunity to connect with likeminded enthusiasts from around the globe.

Several KTM adventure ambassadors, including Chris Birch, Johnny Aubert, and Giovanni Sala will be in attendance, and naturally, a host of expert KTM techs will be on hand to support with mechanical issues throughout the event, as will a support vehicle and medical staff.
