Vmoto Stash storms onto electric market offering high spec and affordable price for young riders

Urban electric motorbike brand Vmoto have confirmed that their new Stash model will be available to UK customers in the next few months, offering top-level tech, impressive performance, and a competitive launch price of £6299 (plus OTR).

The plug-in firm, who were previously known as Super Soco, launched the Stash as a concept in 2023 and say the finished machine will be available from either late April or early May 2024.

Rideable on a CBT from the age of 17, it was penned by British designer Adrian Morton and includes a TFT dash, onboard storage for a helmet, Pirelli tyres, and a boost button for rapid overtakes.

It will enter one of the UK’s most hotly contested electric markets, with new and established manufacturers now bringing small-capacity offerings to the table in an attempt to cash in on the planet-conscious youth, as well as service tightening (and expanding) low emission zones in built-up areas.

“This heralds a new era for Vmoto by bridging the gap between electric and ICE and providing not just high-quality but great value learner-legal vehicles,” said Vmoto Soco UK CEO, Clive Mann. “2024 will see huge pushes for us as a brand in the UK market and worldwide, and this is just the beginning.”

Following the initial launch promotion, prices will rise to £6599 + OTR charges, with the government’s electric vehicle grant in place.

Scooter style braking is done via both levers on the bars. The brakes are combined, with ABS included for additional security. It’s discs all round with a single radially mounted black and gold caliper up front.

Vmoto say the traditional ‘tank’ space in front of the 830mm rider’s seat will provide enough space for a full-face helmet. Below the luggage space sits a fixed 100Ah, 72V battery, providing 7.2kWh of energy. This needs to be charged on the bike and powers an electric mounted on the front of the swingarm, which feeds 10.8bhp to the rear wheel via chain drive.

Although this power output makes it L-plate friendly, an additional boost button momentarily takes the bike to a claimed 20.1bhp – upping the top speed to a respectable 75.6mph from 68.4mph. This is for short boosts only and therefore still legal for CBT holders.

Vmoto say the boost has been given to assist with overtakes, helping to carry the claimed 143kg. The firm also state that it’s capable of 93.2 miles on a single charge in mode one, with it then taking 5.5 hours to fill up from a three-pin plug.
