Indian Super Hooligan | Roland Sands Design adds extra spice to an already fiery FTR

Indian Motorcycle have teamed up with Roland Sands Design (RSD) to create a new version of their FTR naked twin, inspired by the American Super Hooligan racing championship.

Priced at £18,395 in the UK and produced as a limited edition, the new model has been snappily called the ‘FTR X RSD Super Hooligan’ and builds on the existing £16,695 FTR R Carbon model with black metallic bodywork, number boards and official racing graphics.

Just 300 will be built, with 150 of those allocated for markets outside of North America. Indian Motorcycle won the 2023 series with Tyler O’Hara, who rode a heavily modified racing version of the FTR.

“Roland Sands has blazed this trail and built the RSD brand around the hooligan lifestyle,” Indian vice president, Aaron Jax said. “From spinning laps on dirt ovals on mid-size cruisers, to today’s competitive racing within the Moto America series, the ethos of hooligan riding has not changed.”

Roland Sands also added: “When Indian Motorcycle approached us to codesign an Indian FTR for consumers, it was a natural fit, and something we were very excited to be a part of.”

Like the Carbon model, the FTR X RSD machine comes with fully adjustable upside down Öhlins front forks, and a piggyback rearshock. There’s also powerful Brembo stoppers, plus plenty of tech including a 101mm round touchscreen display.

Giving a racier look is the road homologated twin exit Akrapovič exhaust, which runs down the right side of the motorcycle and features a carbon heat shield. Adjustable rear sets by Gilles Tooling should also provide more ground clearance, if you want to take it on track.
