Husqvarna unveil a range of tweaks to their FS450 supermoto racer for 2025

Husqvarna have unveiled a host of updates for the FS450 Supermoto, adding subtle changes to make the race ready single-cylinder even more capable.

Despite its ultra lithe 108.9kg weight (without fuel), there’s still Launch Control, Traction Control, a Quickshifter, and two engine maps on hand to tame. Each function can be activated or deactivated while riding by using the handlebar-mounted Map Select Switch.

Based largely on the FC450 motocrosser, the FS450 retains its proven 26.8kg 450cc SOHC 4-stroke engine for 2025, which is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Most updates have been directed at the chassis parts and ergonomics, with the only engine related change being a new air inlet sleeve to prevent airflow deformation. Prices start at £11,799 (which is up £550 from last year’s model).

All new 48mm WP XACT Closed Cartridge forks feature upfront to provide 285mm of travel (15mm lower than its enduro stablemate). Rear suspension remains unchanged with 266mm of bounce on hand and Husqvarna has stuck with last year’s WP XACT mono-shock featuring a CFD-optimised main piston and tool free adjusters.

There are changes to both Husky’s engine mounts and chromium molybdenum steel mainframe too, which Husqvarna say enhances flex characteristics. Geometry remains the same as last year’s model, but material has been removed from around the upper shock mount and steering head to improve compliance, whilst slightly reducing weight.

The die-cast aluminium swingarm has had a rejig also, which has reportedly improved durability for the chain slider.

There are several subtle ergonomic changes to mention too, with five millimetres added to both the seat height and width, and new radiator shrouds should help with leg positioning.

The 450 receives a set of smaller footrests too in order to improve ground clearance whilst cornering. Finally, a fresh set of graphics round out the changes.
