CFMoto 700CL-X Sport recalled over software updates

CFMoto have issued a recall on their parallel twin 700CL-X Sport model following concerns over the need for a software update.

The 700CL-X Sport was launched by the Chinese brand in spring 2022 as an upspecced version of their retro-styled, 74bhp, twin cylinder roadster.

In a statement, the company said: “CFMoto has determined that the ABS control module on the 700CL-X Sport of model years 2022 and 2023 may require a software update.

“Rider safety is paramount to CFMoto and for that reason, a recall has been issued on the 700CL-X Sport model years 2022 and 2023, to address a concern linked to the ABS software.

“The affected vehicles may require a software update to mitigate excessive braking effort.”

Customers to whom the affected motorcycles were delivered are being personally informed by letter and are asked to contact an authorised dealer immediately.
