Test rides from your doorstep: Norton make sampling the new Commando range easier with new flexible service

1 of 1

Norton Motorcycles are combatting their lack of UK dealerships with a new mobile test ride service, allowing you to sample the £16,499 Commando 961 Sport and £16,999 Café Racer in a time and location convenient to you.

Available for the UK Mainland only, interested customers will have to pay a holding deposit of 10% of the purchase price of the bike, alongside a fuel charge based on the distance of travel required away from Norton’s Birmingham HQ.

Tests have already been booked in as far away as Glasgow, and should the rider not want to proceed with the purchase once they’ve ridden the bike, the holding deposit will be returned.

According to a Norton spokesperson, the response to the scheme has so far been positive, with those interested likely to expect a wait of around a couple of weeks before throwing a leg over the 961cc parallel-twin range. It was also confirmed to MCN that the service was not available for the fully faired, 185bhp V4SV superbike.

Away from test riding the bikes, the Norton representative also confirmed that a “dealer development programme” is now also in the works – to help customers when it comes to service time.

As it stands, riders will be directed to future dealerships closest to them, or it will be arranged for the bike to be collected and returned to their Midlands base for the work.
