Parkers Awards: Best Large Van and Best Electric Van winners revealed in association with MCN

Parkers – the definitive resource for car buying advice in the UK – have partnered with MCN to bring you the awards for the Best Large Van and Best Electric Vans in their prestigious New Car Awards 2023. The winners are Ford Transit and E-Transit, and they are two of a total of 24 award winners revealed today (10 October).   

The Ford Transit is a brilliant van that drives like a car and offers a variety of lengths, heights and luggage area volumes to cover the needs of so many of its users. Key upgrades include an optional 10-speed automatic transmission and a version with a 5.0-tonne gross vehicle weight and the addition of Ford Pro, the comprehensive support network that aims to, among other things, minimise your vehicle downtime.  

Parkers Editor Keith Adams said: “it takes the win after five straight wins for the VW Crafter/MAN TGE thanks to a number of updates and more importantly, the addition of the electric E-Transit version. This means the big Ford has added a crucial element to its range that broadens its appeal and drastically raises the bar for the sector and the van industry as a whole.” 

The winner of Best Electric Van, the Ford E-Transit is a proper gamechanger, and is on a different level to its battery-powered rivals.  

Keith Adams added: ”it helps starting with the best large van you can get, in terms of its driving ability, interior quality and practicality, but it then adds a level of electric performance that nothing in the class can match. It offers a range of up to 196 miles, and at least 100 miles with a full payload, and a level of performance that is unrivalled, even among the E-Transit’s diesel equivalents.” 

The winning vans have been tested rigorously by the Parkers.co.uk team, which judged the best large and electric vans on a combination of value, quality, reliability, cost-per-month on finance deals and fitness-for-purpose.
