With bikes getting more powerful every year, both Continental and Pirelli have released ‘hyper’ tyres designed to get that stomp to the ground.

Starting with the slightly more mainstream option, Continental’s new ‘hyper touring’ ContiRoadAttack 4 is designed for mileage, stability and wet grip but with an emphasis on improved performance at high lean angles with slick areas at the extremes of the tyre shoulders.

There’s a new compound and tread pattern in the centre of the tyre for better wet weather performance than before. They are available to fit 120/70-17 fronts and 160-190 rears.

Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corso

Pirelli, meanwhile, have unveiled the hypersport Diablo Rosso IV Corsa. Timed to coincide with the firm’s 150th birthday, the Rosso IV Corsa is aimed at riders who value performance above all else.

As such it’s been designed for increased grip in the dry with a slicker tread that has 25% more area between the grooves, as well as consistent thermal performance so they should perform well across multiple sessions on a track day.

The Rosso IV Corsa is available in a 110 and 120 front, along with a choice of 150-200 section rears. Prices for both the Pirellis are yet to be confirmed.
