Indian break out the ink with latest tattoo competition

Indian have unveiled the first of their incoming outlandish tattoo-inspired livery designs, with three well known tattoo artists all creating a design that is digitally displayed on a Chief model before being applied to a real life machine.

The first to be revealed is by Mayonaize, a New Zealand-born tattooist, who hand-painted the design onto large-scale templates, which were then photographed and rendered onto a digital Chief.

Mayonaize’s design will be applied to a real Chief later this year and revealed in the metal in London next spring. The bike will be displayed alongside designs from the two other artists making up the project, Shige and Carlos Torres. Forty more of the world’s leading tattoo artists will also compete to have their designs made into reality after a public vote in the autumn.

The competition is part of Indian teaming up with No Regrets, which will see one lucky winner get a two-day tattoo studio session worth £5000 by registering to test ride an Indian.

Any model in the current line up will get you in with a chance of winning the all expenses paid trip. For more info, head to the Indian Motorcycle website.
