MSV secures Donington Hall Estate for new motorsport facility and hotel

English race circuit giants MotorSport Vision (MSV) have purchased the freehold of the Donington Hall Estate in an effort to create a unique leisure resort for the motorsport enthusiast.

The acquisition sees MSV take charge of the Hall itself, which they plan to convert into a 40-bedroom hotel, ready for the 2023 race season. The company already has control of the Donington Park circuit next door.

“We will be creating an extraordinary and unique facility,” MSV Chief Executive, Jonathan Palmer, said. “Specialist car owners will be able to fly directly into East Midlands Airport, view their cars within 10 minutes of landing before settling into the hotel.

“Their chosen car will be prepared and warmed up, waiting outside the front of the Hall after breakfast, from where they can drive it up the original carriage drive and directly on to the Donington Park circuit.”

MSV have also taken charge of Hastings House at the site – previously used in the production of Norton Motorcycles – which is now set to become a 45,000sqft storage facility for motorcycles alongside space for modern and classic cars. It will be renamed ‘Donington Hall Motorhouse’ and is set to open in Autumn 2021.

“Donington Hall Motorhouse will be an outstanding place to securely store some of the best cars and motorcycles in the world, with VVIP facilities for owners,” Palmer continued. “The opportunity to reunite the circuit with the Hall was not to be missed and the substantial marriage value is very exciting.”

All contained within 28-acres of land, MSV also took charge of the Lansdowne workshops building, which will be available to let by motor engineering businesses, who will then help with the upkeep of the machines used on track and stored in the Motorhouse.
