A podcasting duo consisting of 2020 National Superstock 1000 champion Chrissy Rouse and Isle of Man TT top-10 finisher Dom Herbertson are aiming to raise thousands for Macmillan Cancer Support by auctioning off signed racing memorabilia.

The Newcastle duo, who are co-hosts on the popular Chasin’ the Racin’ podcast, began their fundraising campaign earlier this week with a one-off Shark Race R Pro helmet signed by a variety of guests from their show; ranging from Michael Rutter, to Mick Grant and Niall Mackenzie, to Josh Brookes.

“The response has been fantastic,” Rouse told MCN. “It’s great to be able to have the opportunity to get all of the people to sign it who have done through our racing and the podcast.”

Starting on Monday, November 16, the auction will last for seven days, ending on Monday, November 23. At the time of writing, just three days in, the total already stands at £1020 after 26 bids.

“It’s amazing to see everyone coming together to raise good money for a worthy cause,” the British champion continued. “With the crash helmet, anything raised is good, but if I had to guess, I would hope to raise at least £2000 – but I’ve got no idea if that will happen or not.”

Following the auction of the helmet, the pair will also be selling a signed Tarran Mackenzie team jacket, plus signed gloves from brother Taylor Mackenzie. Other items also include a racing BMW nose cone, courtesy of Michael Rutter and the Bathams Racing squad.
