Yamaha release premium XMAX Iron Max scooter
Yamaha have unveiled a new range-topping spec for their popular XMAX scooter at Eicma 2018. The Yamaha XMAX Iron Max will be available in 125, 300 and 400cc versions and brings slightly more prestige than the standard models.

The Iron Max is available in a new Sword Grey colour with a dual seat, leather interior pads, aluminium footrests and a satin chrome speedo ring.

The premium scooter market is looking pretty healthy at the moment with most brands carrying an impressive range-topper. Here’s what else is out there and what you get for your money.
Honda Forza
The Honda Forza is available in 125 (£4689) and 300cc (£5099) versions. They feature an electronic screen, traction control, hefty storage, keyless ignition and stop-start engine tech.
Piaggio Beverly Sport Touring ABS
The £5299 Piaggio features ABS and ASR traction control, plus a tuned 300cc engine 30bhp single engine. You get a smoked screen and plenty of storage, the underseat compartment can be opened remotely.
Kymco AK550
Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco clearly aren’t trying to buy their way into the UK maxi-scooter market with their AK550 costing a whopping £8879. You get a 550cc 53bhp twin-cylinder engine, heated grips and a ‘Noodoe’ customisable and multimedia-enabled LCD dash.
Vespa GTS Super Sport
Available in 125 (£4899) and 300cc (£5399) versions, the Vespa GTS Super Sport features ABS and ASR traction control. It has a sportier appearance than other Vespas, but the classic DNA is still clearly visible. Vespa are also taking orders for their Elettrica electric scooter.
