The new KTM 790 Adventure uses Avon tyres

The hotly anticipated KTM 790 Adventure that was unveiled officially at Eicma 2018 has Avon TrailRider dual sport tyres fitted as standard.

The KTM’s 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels will have the British firm’s sport touring rubber.

“We are extremely proud to be OE for the newly unveiled KTM 790 Adventure,” said Avon’s Global Head of Motorcycle Sales, Doug Ross.

“The TrailRider has been designed to deliver reassuring grip and handling – and features Avon’s acclaimed 3D sipes to fine-tune tread flex, improve warm-up times, and stabilise the tread blocks under load.”

Avon launched the TrailRider adventure tyre to offer better wet weather performance than its predecessor without reducing its longevity. It replaced the Avon Distanzia and is available in sizes for the most common adventure bikes.

The Trailrider uses a silica-rich compound to improve the wet grip. The rear tyre is multi-compound, with softer edges for improved grip and a harder central band for longevity.
