KTM add navigation to their TFT dash

KTM have just released an update to their MY RIDE app that allows owners of the 1290 Super Adventure S and R models to have turn-by-turn navigation displayed on their TFT dash directly from the app. And thoughtfully, the update can be retro-fitted to models released in 2017 at no extra cost, so no owners will miss out.

The MY RIDE app costs £7.99 and allows the rider to connect their smartphone to any KTM with a TFT dash (125 & 390 Duke, 1290 Super Duke R, 1290 Super Adventure S & R and 790 Duke, although a hardware upgrade may be required in some cases). This means that with a Bluetooth headset, the rider can listen to music and receive calls using the bike’s handlebar-mounted menu switch to control functions. However the new Navigation system extends this and adds navigation for the 1290 Super Adventure S and R.

As well as displaying turn-by-turn navigation on the bike’s dash, the system shows distance to the next turn, name of the next street, arrival time and distance to target on a separate screen next to the speedo.

All users of the MY RIDE system can access the new Navigation system on their phone, however only 1290 Super Adventure S and R riders can have it displayed on their dash.
