Head for the Shed

If you’re looking for a place to meet and talk bikes regardless of the weather or time of year then look no further than the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in London’s Shoreditch. This unique destination is entirely undercover and thanks to its urban location is easily accessible by public transport for those who would rather stay in if its hammering down or who might fancy a beer or two at the licensed restaurant.

That said, it might come as a surprise to learn that this city centre club has on site parking for up to 90 bikes, so if you do ride in there’s no need to abandon your pride and joy in a dodgy London bay. 

The Bike Shed could well be considered the hub of the current café custom scene and a place for a certain kind of hipster to hang out, but there is so much more on offer. It’s run by enthusiastic motorcyclists for motorcycle enthusiasts and as such is totally inclusive – ride up on whatever you’ve got and you’ll be treated as a club member without even joining. The atmosphere is always friendly and laid back whilst the food and indeed the service is first class.

Thursday night is officially Club Night but it’s generally busy right through the weekend and there’s always something going on – Moto GP screenings have proved so popular that bookings need to made in advance and are sold out weeks before the actual race.

The calendar is constantly evolving and the events space is often used for product launches, many of which are open to the public to attract the casual and curious observer. The Bike Shed is also a great place for other clubs to meet, such as the regular gatherings of the KTM Forum or Harley Sportster group – in many ways that’s what it’s all about.

Being a club there is of course the option of membership, which holds many advantages by way of discounts and is also a way for people to show their support by taking ownership – the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club currently has 600 card carrying members and it’s growing all the time.
