Ever wished you had more mates to ride with? Carole Nash have the answer with their #BikerBuddy campaign which is aiming to help fellow riders meet, promoting the social element that makes motorcycling such a unique and engaging pastime.

The campaign is looking to match bikers with similar interests and help people make new friends to ride with after research carried out by Carole Nash found that many people don’t regularly meet up with their friends.

On looking at the findings, psychologist Dr Becky Spelman said “A clear majority of people want to make new friends. They help to define us, and being alone can present an immense challenge. One of the best ways to connect with others is through a shared interest, and biking can be a great way to make likeminded friends, as it’s so community-focused.”

The research found that 75% of those surveyed only managed to see their close friends once over a 2 to 4 week period, and that 12% admit that they hardly ever see their friends.

The scheme – which runs until April 17 – is looking to connect those who might be looking for someone to ride with or even for those who are new to biking to get help from peers.

To take part in Carole Nash’s new initiative, all you have to do is share a quick description of the type of biker you are, and what kind of biker buddy you’re looking for, via tweeting @InsideBikes with #BikerBuddy, or emailing bikerbuddy@carolenash.com.

You could even challenge your new friends to take part in the #ride5000miles campaign too and share riding goals.
