Husqvarna report strong growth for 2016

Husqvarna are enjoying a strong period of growth after reporting a large increase in both sales and turnover for 2016.

Now owned by KTM, the brand reported a growth of 43% in both sales and turnover for 2016, selling 30,700 units globally, nearly double what it was just two years ago.

The growth follows a succession of new models last year, namely the 701 Enduro and Supermoto motorcycles, alongside the new FE and TE Enduro models.

Husqvarna are also looking to grow further in 2017, with the introduction of the engine updates in the 701 models for 2017 and also introducing the TC50 and TC65 motorcycles to the range.

The highly anticipated Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 are expected to arrive at some point later in 2017 too, though there is no word yet as to when these will be in dealers. The bikes, which will use KTMs 690 engine, will be a step in a new direction for the firm into the realm of street motorcycles instead of those that are based around off-road machines.
