Motorcycle Live 2017 launches custom competition

Motorcycle Live have launched a new custom building competition for 2017, dubbed Ace Builds, as they search for the best hand-built bike in the country.

To submit a bike to the Ace Build competition, entrants are required to upload a selection of high resolution images of their machine to the relevant manufacturer category at acebuilds.motorcyclelive.co.uk, with up to 200 words describing the build/customisation.

To enter a bike into the competition the bike must be road legal, it must have been built in the UK, it must be owned by the entrant and it must be a one-off creation that stands out. Only bikes based on models from manufacturers exhibiting at Motorcycle Live 2017 may be entered.

Entires for the competition close on September 29, after which an expert panel – consisting of Motorcycle News deputy editor Richard Newland, Built and Classic Bike editor Gary Pinchin and Bike Shed founder Anthony “Dutch” van Someren – will select a shortlist of semi-finalists. The voting will then open to the public, with the four most popular bikes going on display ob the Black Horse Stage. The four finalists will be announced on November 1 and will receive tickets to the event and £200 worth of Motolegends vouchers.

Visitors to Motorcycle Live will then cast their votes to decide the ‘Ultimate Ace Build’, with the winner receiving a trophy, £1000 of vouchers and the chance for their bike to feature in a Motolegends catalogue.

Advance tickets for Motorcycle Live are on sale now, priced at just £19.50 for adults, £12 for seniors, £1 for 11-16 year olds and free for children aged ten and under (accompanied by a paying adult). There is also a £25 advance ticket, which includes entry to the show and a Spada Gonzo bag worth £29.99 while stocks last.
