Carl Fogarty out of retirement and back to winning ways
Carl Fogarty returned to the top step of a motorcycle race podium last weekend, 16 years after retirement. The four-time World Superbike champion took victory in the Essenza sprint races held at the Glemseck 101 festival in Germany.
Foggy was riding The White Bike, a custom Triumph Thruxton R fitted with a bespoke Rotrex supercharger, increasing power from 96bhp to 139bhp. Fogarty won all three of his knockout rounds on the bike, and managed to beat a Kawasaki H2R in the final.

Foggy said: “It’s the first time I’ve entered a race like this and it’s been a lot of fun. The team at Triumph did a brilliant job, the bike performed really well and I couldn’t be happier with the win. It’s always good to be on the top step of the podium!”
