Jenny Tinmouth – Honda Racing BSB rider, fastest female TT lap record holder with 119.945mph – talks to us about how to make it in a man’s world.

Jenny says: “The world of racing and motorbikes doesn’t feel like a man’s world to me. It’s my world… and theirs, it’s everyone’s world. It’s about following a passion, and mine is motorbikes. I got into bikes simply because I love them; there was no masterplan to be ‘a girl in a man’s world’ or anything like that.

“It’s the reason why my whole life is dedicated to bikes, both racing them in BSB and fixing them in my day job running The Two Wheel Workshop, where we do everything from race-prep to servicing and MOTs.

MORE HOW THE HELL DO YOUS…

“I probably did it the hard way: I didn’t come from a racing background and didn’t have any money, but I just loved it – and if you have that love then anything that you really, really want to do, you can. If you’ve got that passion in your heart then you can achieve anything. You’ll always find ways and means to do it – and never let anybody say that you can’t.”
