Gallery: Grasstrack racing at the Lincolnshire Poacher

Grasstrack, which to the naked eye looks similar to speedway, is one of the original forms of motorsport and still soldiers on today pretty much the same as it was years ago. The bikes are powered by 500cc single-cylinder four stroke engines wihc run on methanol. On the straights they reach 80mph. 100mph on some of the longer tracks in Europe.

MCN went along to the 2016 Lincolnshire Poacher, one of Britain’s last remaining international events to see how grasstrack is holding up in the modern world.
