Road racing comes to Coventry this weekend

The Isle of Man TT isn't the only place to catch race bikes on the road this weekend, as iconic Suzuki race machines are set to tear up a midlands ring road with the return of Coventry Motofest.

The two-day free-to-enter festival will see bikes and cars take over the city centre, with part of the ring road closed to normal traffic and turned into a temporary circuit where bikes like Michael Dunlop’s Classic Team Suzuki XR69, Kenny Roberts JR’s Suzuki RGV500 GP bike, and Ryuichi Kiyonari’s Bennetts Suzuki GSX-R1000 BSB machine will slalom over the cats eyes on the city’s infamous dual carriageway loop.

Away from the action on the ring road, the festival also spawns out into the city streets where hundreds of cars and bikes will be on display, including Barry Sheene’s RG500.  There’s also plenty of live music, demonstrations, and fringe acts to keep every member of the family entertained.

Event organisers say the show attracted over 100,000 spectators last year, so get there early to ensure you’ve got the best spot to view this totally unique spectacle.

Details: The whole event is totally free to attend. For more information visit www.coventrymotofest.com
