Video: This drag race doesn't go to plan
Updated: 29 February 2016

Drag racing; go as fast as you can in a staight line for a quarter of a mile. Simple. But what happens when both competitors’ bikes suffer mechanical failures on the start line?
In the video above, racers Maurice Allen, on the red bike, and Ryan Learmonth roll up to the startline ready to cover the quarter mile at breathtaking speeds, but when the lights go green Learmonth doesn’t move and Allen jumps forward before rolling to a stop.
Seeing Allen’s advantage, Learmonth begins pushing in a bid to win the race, before Allen also opts for the power of his own two legs. Needless to say both commentators find the ensuing ‘race’ hilarious.
