November motorcycle registrations up 12%
Figures released by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) show new motorcycle registrations in November were up 12% compared to November 2015 and up 7% this year to date.
114,160 motorcycles were registered in 2015, and at the end of November 2016 117,654 had already been registered.

Naked motorcycles are still the most popular type of motorcycle, with over 32,000 sold so far in 2016. But in November scooters were the most popular, with 1747 new registrations.
The figures show a trend towards cheaper, lesser known manufacturers, with the Keeway Superlight the most popular custom model registered in November. The Keeway was joined by the Lexmoto ZSX-F 125 as the top bike in the sport/tour category. The highest registered bike upto 50cc was the Longjia LJ50 QT-3L Echo 50, while the most popular bike from 126-650cc was the Scomadi Turismo Leggera 200.
The most registered bike overall was the Honda PCX125, followed by the Honda CB125F and BMW R1200GS Adventure.
