MCN users respond to Calais border travel issues

Earlier this month MCN’s Deputy Editor, Richard Newland, encountered some potentially life-threatening problems on the road into Calais when returning from the Austrian round of MotoGP. 

Just a week later the BBC picked up on the very same story, filming such blockades on the same stretch of road approaching the Eurotunnel terminal.

We wanted to hear what MCN readers’ opinions are on the dangers of passing through Calais, and if other riders have encountered similiar blockades. 

Our Dept. Editor’s experience was certainly not a pleasant one, and while he’s keen to point out he’s neither trying to villify nor defend anyone, he wants others who may be riding or driving through the terminal to be aware of the dangers that lurk in the darkness on the road to Calais.
