MCN Live bids farewell

1 of 20

It’s been 22 years of brilliant fun in which we’ve shared many moments and memories but, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, such is the time that MCN Live made its final farewell at the weekend.

With plenty of booze, bands and of course bikes, the last MCN Live went out with a bang, and for the final time we celebrated everything that is great about motorcycle life at Skegness.

After getting lucky with the weather on Saturday following a very wet Friday, John McGuinness, Chris Walker and John Reynolds led the rideout to Cadwell Park where they managed to show some restraint on the parade lap (though they somehow still ended up jostling for the lead position).

The weekend was packed with live action including some of the UK’s finest flat trackers taking each other on in demonstration races. Stunt rider Steve Colley wowed the crowds with some outrageous skills while the National Motorcycle Museum gave us the opportunity to ride some incredible classic machines.

The evenings came alive with bands, beers and of course the fancy dress competition making sure there were plenty of hangovers in the aftermath. Congratulations are in order too for Lynne McGuire, who is now the proud owner of our Tombola prize, a new KTM RC390.

Finally and sincerely, from all at Motorcycle News, may we thank all those who have supported, partied and shared the MCN Live experience with us over the years, it has been a true pleasure and we couldn’t have done it without you.

The next MCN event is the MCN Fesitval of Motorcycling at the Peterborough Showground on May 14-15. Full details here
