Kawasaki have confirmed the new Ninja ZX-10R is to be launched at an exclusive unveiling in Barcelona next month.

The new model will have many subtle updates, the most notable being uprated brakes and suspension. The brakes are predicted to feature the latest cornering ABS system and the suspension is believed to feature Showa Big Piston Forks, all alongside an updated electronics package, ensuring that the new model keeps up with the current offerings from other manufacturers and to keep the bike competitive in WSB.

Project Leader Yoshimoto Matsuda commented “With the new model we have focused our development resources on an overall engineering and performance improvement. We are proud of the result; it means a significant advance in terms of both chassis and engine performance as well as providing the platform to introduce new, state of the art rider aids and other technology.”

The current ZX-10R remains competitive in WSBK in the hands of Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes but as a road bike, is now slightly lagging behind other manufacturer offerings. The latest sports bikes from BMW, Ducati and Yamaha all feature the latest electronics and suspension packages, this update is aiming to bring the new ZX-10R in line with them.
