A new VMAX Carbon model has been added to the range to celebrate 30 years since the famous bike first appeared and the firm has also added a new, cheaper VMAX aimed at those who want to customise the bikes.

The Carbon model costs  £18,749 and is based on the current 1679cc, 200bhp V4 model but comes with carbon fibre fuel tank cover, front and rear mudguards and side covers but also has upswept Akrapovic slip-on exhaust silencers. The new version will be available in dealers from February.

The new Matt Grey version costs £15,749 and only comes in the one matt grey paintscheme which has been aimed at a customising starting point for those looking to make the bikes unique.

New yard built VMAX model

Yamaha is also gearing up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original VMAX with the unveiling of a number of new Yard Built specials. The first of these is being created by German builder Jens vom Brauck, who is working on his first ever Yamaha project. The company have commissioned other custom builders to create two more Yard Built specials for delivery around June and September 2015.

JvB-moto is the company run by vom Brauck and he is already at work at his workshops near Cologne transforming the VMAX into a stripped back creation combining modern materials with a custom twist.
