Have Suzuki done enough?

Suzuki revealed what they are calling a ‘Concept’ GSX-R1000 at the Milan motorcycle show two weeks ago, with the firm revealing that the bike is completely new from the ground up.

But for all the new technology and engineering wrapped up in the new GSX-R1000 shown at Motorcycle Live, it was the conservative styling that was the main talking point amongst show-goers, with many feeling a little disappointed that it didn’t look different enough.

Neil Bower, 41 from the West Midlands is the owner of a Suzuki GSX-R1000 K9 and told MCN: “It is a bit of a disappointment to be honest as I think it should have been something completely different. That colourscheme doesn’t help as it looks like the current bike. I do like it and I would still have one but the styling should have changed in the same way Yamaha did with the R1.”

Neil’s mate Andy Roberts, 41, also from the West Midlands agreed: “To design a completely new bike, but then make it look so similar is a bit disappointing. They should have changed it a lot more. It will still sell whatever it looks like because it’s a GSX-R but something new would have been good.”
